Don’t worry when you are not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition.

Month 3 Summary
Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.
Benjamin Franklin
Weight 263.8
I am down 29 pounds!!!! This is fantastic. I have been weighing myself but ignoring it. Remember my original goal was to lose 8.2 pounds a month. I have surpassed that at 9.7 pounds a month.
The important thing is I’ve done all of this with diet alone. Sure I’ve worked out and walked some but not nearly enough. Once I get on the bicycle and do daily riding things are going to make me like butter, I’ll be on a roll.
I can feel the difference too. My clothes are fitting better and I have more energy. I am very happy.
Now for the graphs. The first will be the month and the other will be since January 1st.
Day 88
Maintenance is terribly important.
Manolo Blahnik
Eventually this weight loss blog will become a bicycling blog. It is possible that the weather will improve so the plan is to spend Fridays exploring maintenance. I don’t know that much about cycling maintenance so I plan to watch these videos over and over.

Day 87
If you’re not getting older, you’re dead.
Tom Petty
Weight loss is continuing, slow and steady. I can feel my clothes getting looser and that is a good thing. I continue to believe that if the weather actually improves and I can get on the bike that it will accelerate. I believe.
Also, I spent most of the day yesterday with my mom at the hospital. We had planned to get a CAT scan to see if her cancer was getting worse but I got a call that she had fallen and cut her nose pretty badly. I picked her up and took her to the hospital for both the scan and stitches.
It was a brutal six hours. Today she goes in for a blood transfusion and then chemo.
In the old days the stress and long hours would have had me eating for comfort. Not anymore. I am on a mission..
Day 86
Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it
Andre Gide
In case you haven’t noticed I love quotations. If I am at poker I read quotations in between hands. During a game I can look at hundreds. One of these days I will index all of the quotes on this blog. No one has mentioned them, but I like them.
Day 85: Golden Corral
Gluttony is not a secret vice.
Orson Welles
Last night my father-in-law wanted to go to Golden Corral to get their Prime Rib & Shrimp feast. He’s a tough old coot and I try to be there to grease the wheels between he and his daughter.
If you haven’t been to Golden Corral let me tell you about it. Normally for about eleven bucks you can go there and get all the food you want. It is a fat person’s paradise. My wife and I call it The Hungry Heifer. Since it is all you can eat people gorge themselves reasoning that they should get their money’s worth.
I got there and the price was raised on the weekends to $12.99 because they had Prime Rib and Shrimp. After seated I promised myself to be good. I got some prime rib and assorted food. The Prime Rib was tasteless. I tossed most of it and had some teriyaki chicken and meat loaf.
Looking around it was amazing how many seriously fat people were there. One woman looked like she weighed the same as my first car. Others were well over 300 pounds with heaping plates of food.
Seeing these people actually made it easier for me to eat less. I ate normally and didn’t get my money’s worth. That’s okay.
Weather Update Update
I got up this morning and there was no snow. This is what I saw on my feed.
Event Cancelled for Lorain County
Day 84: Weather Update
Weather forecast for tonight: dark.
George Carlin
Sometimes I hate Ohio. This is the headline on accuweather.com
Cleveland, OH – 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow…
What a pisser. Then I look a little closer and after the snow melts it’s:
Then it gets better!!!
I will be on the bike every day. This is going to be fun.
